Job Description - Solicitors Accountant

Legal Bookkeeper

Essex

Excellent salary and opportunity

Our legal client is expanding and now needs an inhouse Bookkeeper to manage the firm's busy billings and accounts.

The successful applicant will have been working for a firm of solicitors in a similar role or be doing solicitors' accounts for their clients in a firm of Accountants.

Requirements

Manage the firm's financial records
Have a good knowledge of compliance and regulations like the SRA Accounts Rules.
Handle the daily, weekly, and monthly finance tasks.
Manage client trust accounts (IOLTA/escrow)
Trust and Operating Accounts
Bill clients (hourly, contingency, or flat fee)
Daily reconciliations and reporting functions.
Ensuring all transactions are documented to pass regulatory audits.
Expense Management - Handling accounts payable, receivable
Payroll.
