End User Compute Architect – Belfast/hybrid – Permanent

REED Technology are delighted to partner with an educational organisation who are seeking to recruit a End User Compute Architect to join their excellent team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading with the implementation, development and management of new deployment methodologies and technologies that will enhance end user compute service provision, capabilities and support mechanisms. They will be a technical specialist in cloud MDM/MAM technologies and provide technical design and architecture expertise relating to the management of the MDM devices.

Main Duties

1. Lead technical specialist role in the development of staff in end user compute services
2. Lead ad hoc specialist teams of technical staff focussed upon project-led service development activity
3. Proactively monitor, maintain, test, and enhance the resilience of the company managed desktop and mobile device management services
4. Lead on the design, testing and transition into operational use of all new and enhanced services
5. Manage and coordinate defined “evaluation and investigation” activity aimed at supporting and developing the integration and adoption of the use of corporate approved and centrally managed technology platforms and associated configurations.
6. Initiate and execute centralised service management responsibilities, service performance monitoring, design of software and operating system deployment methods and the production of reporting and monitoring procedures
7. Maintain, manage and develop the company endpoint management platforms, endpoint security and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
8. Research, develop, promote, and support endpoint management and deployment technologies
9. Seek to automate processes including application deployments and management
10. Provide a technical consultancy and support service to ICT support staff
11. Manage and develop the secure configuration and deployment of tailored policies
12. Represent as a technical liaison with maintenance and service providers to resolve operational problems and to contribute to cyclical customer-supplier reviews.
13. Function as the primary technical resource and trusted advisory for internal stakeholder engagements
14. Create technical content and guidance documentation and deliver training courses pertaining to new and improved End User Compute services.

Essential criteria

• Degree in a relevant subject area
• Experience in the creation of automated processes to assist with OS deployments, patch management, software distribution and policy configurations
• Demonstrable experience in at least three of the following areas:
  
  • Cloud Mobile Device Management technologies
  • MECM configuration including Image Deployment, Application Packaging, Patch Management.
  • Experience of delivering Desktop as a Service and/or VDI solutions incorporating modern Cloud approaches, tools and techniques
  • Management of Endpoint Protection Platforms including Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Next Generation Detection tools
  • Scripting experience - preferably PowerShell experience

• Experience of supporting and developing desktop and mobile technologies and their application profiles
• Evidence of End User Compute service design, testing, operational delivery and service monitoring
