Modernise and Re-Architect Payments in a Tier 1 UK Bank

One of the UK's largest banks is looking for a Solutions Architect to modernise architecture and engineering across their core payments applications. The bank is currently on a cloud transformation journey and moving from being monolithic to event-driven. This shift involves moving away from significant legacy systems, moving to DevOps, and introducing new ways of working in engineering.

This role will sit within the Payments function and will analyse technical design issues and drive resolution through the iteration of the technical solution design. Furthermore, you will contribute to shaping the requirements, and validating designs and prototypes to deliver change that aligns with the target architecture. The Architect will also analyse potential impacts to existing and prospective customers of the latest technology and customer trends by using industry thinking and best practice.

Requirements
Understanding of modern architecture including microservices, event-driven architecture and design
Experience operating in a cloud-first environment
Experience of defining application architectures and roadmaps for complex solutions working for all layers of the technical architecture
Forward-thinking and ambitious
Strong experience with AWS Cloud
Good understanding of DevOps and experience working in a DevOps environment
Good experience with Kubernetes and containerisation
Background within Financial Services, payments if possible

This is a permanent role which can be based in either London, Bristol, Manchester or Edinburgh with hybrid working.
