Job Description

As Sous Chef you will prepare and deliver excellent standards of food quality at all times, paying particular attention to the dish specifications to ensure that all dishes are prepared, cooked and delivered correctly, first time. You’ll create a great work environment, bringing life to the kitchen by driving the passion for food in the hotel. At the same time you will encourage learning, knowledge sharing, and pride throughout the whole team.
Leading by example, you will motivate and inspire the team by translating the objectives of the business to provide a clear sense of direction and purpose. You will work closely with the Head Chef to review your teams performance while providing coaching, support, and mentorship, ensuring that any successes are celebrated.
All legal standards are to be maintainedin terms of Food safety, health & safety, fire and security for guests and team members, as well as accurate reports,records and food & safety compliance related documentation. Any food complaints will be monitored, taking action to ensure issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction, including reviewing social media and taking any feedback onboard. You will also be able to carry out open and close-down procedures at the required times.

Qualifications

The right person will have:
A passion for food and all things cooking related to create excellent dishes
Previous experience working in a fast paced kitchen leading a team
An understanding of maximisingprofit potential of all revenue streams such asrestaurant/bar/functions, taking into account budgetary constraints,to maximise performance against financial measures whilst protecting guest experience and food standards
