We have been named as one of The Times’ Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality for the 10th year running, recognised by Stonewall as a top 10 employer for LGBTQ+ inclusion, and by the Social Mobility Employer Index as a top employer for advancing social mobility.

Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Spain qualified Support Lawyer with strong expertise in Real Estate, Banking or Capital Markets to join our Transactional team. The role will provide broad paralegal support across our practice groups in Madrid from here in the UK.

This is a part-time role with a potential to go full time if there is sufficient work.

Key responsibilities

  • Support coordination of transactions, liaising with clients, lawyers, and third parties to facilitate smooth and timely execution of mandates.
  • Proactively manage document checklists, monitor compliance and deadlines, and serve as a central point of contact for transaction stakeholders.
  • Assist with due diligence processes, record management, and transaction bibles, with an emphasis on accurate documentation rather than post-completion administration.
  • Oversee completion processes for transactions and maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records.
  • Address client and internal queries regarding documentation and contribute to effective transaction delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on transaction progress and anticipated next steps.

Candidate requirements

  • Spain-qualified Support Lawyer
  • 1+ years of experience in Real Estate, Banking or Capital Markets
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and pragmatic approach.
  • Strong commercial judgement and confidence in asking questions where needed.
  • Ability to work independently over time and lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • A thorough and proactive approach, with a strong focus on attention to detail, accuracy, and efficient delivery.

Third-party provider

Linklaters engages with a third-party provider for the provision of contractor and temporary staff. Therefore, upon acceptance of a temporary role at Linklaters, you will be engaged under a contract for services through our preferred third-party provider. You will not be employed by Linklaters, or have any employment or worker relationship with Linklaters.

Technical Skills

This list of duties and responsibilities above is not exhaustive.  It is intended to describe the general content of, and requirements for, the performance of this job. As such, the role may also include the undertaking of additional tasks as required.

Application Policy

Applications and CVs (direct or via agency) are only accepted online via the portal. Queries related to this role must be directed to the recruitment team ( [email protected]) and not partners, practices or stakeholders.
