Position: Spanish Teacher

A mixed comprehensive school in Manchester is seeking to appoint a Spanish Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that values language learning, cultural understanding, and high-quality teaching.
Spanish is a valued subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while gaining an appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures.
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ communication skills and linguistic confidence.
Students will build vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, translation, and conversational fluency through a range of interactive and structured learning activities.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations, supporting them in developing strong language skills, cultural awareness, and exam confidence.
You will work collaboratively within a successful MFL department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging lessons in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Promote cultural awareness and language enrichment opportunities
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Spanish
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach an additional language such as French or German
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
