An Amazing Special School in Harrow is seeking dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistants to join our committed team. We cater to children aged 3 to 11 years with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Experience in a special school or working with children with additional needs is desirable but not essential - we provide extensive training and ongoing professional development.

• Support children’s learning across a wide range of needs and stages of development

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using a compassionate approach

• Assist pupils with personal care needs, always maintaining dignity and fostering independence

• Be an active participant in swimming/hydrotherapy sessions - this may involve getting into the pool

• Work constructively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals

• Support children’s learning through play, structured activities, and therapeutic input

• Use technology confidently to enhance teaching and learning

• Maintain accurate and confidential records where required
  
  

• Uphold and contribute to the positive, inclusive ethos of the school
  
  

• Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 2

• Willingness to undertake ongoing training relevant to the role

• Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in education (in line with the Equality Act 2010)

• Awareness of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety standards

• Capacity to support children’s physical, personal, and sensory needs with respect and sensitivity
