Special Needs Teacher

Tradewind are working with a Special Educational Needs School in Selly Oak who are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Needs Teacher to join their committed team in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment. The school supports pupils from 11-19years with a variety of needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and challenging behaviours. The role is full-time to start ASAP.

Key responsibilities:

Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the unique needs of students.
Providing targeted support for students with Specific Learning Disabilities and managing challenging behaviours effectively.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff and therapists, to create a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience and comfortability working with students with complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and managing challenging behaviours.
Proven experience working in a special school
A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
