Job Description - Special Process Engineer

Our client is a global, leading precision component manufacturer primarily operating in the Aerospace sector. They manufacture precision engineered parts for aerospace customers (mainly precision fabrication and machining) and are looking for a Special Process Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of NADCAP processes (heat treatment and/or NDT – FPI/DPI/Dye Penetrant)

Special Process Engineer
Job Description

Support delivery of our quality, cost, delivery and OPEX targets.
Maintain and develop a comprehensive and documented Quality Walk the Floor routine to control and improve the performance of the business in line with required targets and standards, the output of which is to feed the DOMs.
Maintain and audit the Quality Assurance System in line with customer specific requirements, AS9100, ISO14001 & NADCAP - NDT and Heat Treat
Support the delivery of NPI
Maintain & improve a comprehensive internal audit program to control and continually improve the performance of Quality System in line with required targets and standards.
Maintenance of control plans, Process flow charts PFMEA & PPAP.
Reduce the cost of non-conformance by engaging with the teams & carrying out continuous improvement / lean initiatives.
Review & disposition of internal scrap - NCR completion
Generation, review & closure of supplier/sub-con NCRs.
Improve investigation, problem-solving and follow-up of Quality Assurance issues to prevent both potential & recurring problems.

Special Process Engineer
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Good knowledge of NADCAP processes (heat treatment and/or NDT – FPI/DPI/Dye Penetrant)
Experience within quality, knowledge and experience with as many of these as possible – NCR’s/non-conformances, PFMEA, PPAP, auditing, root-cause analysis.
understand the processes – how they carry out heat treatment and or NDT (dye/fluorescent pen) – understand material types
