Hours of Work: Part Time: 24+ Hours Per Week / Full Time: 40 hours per week - Shifts: 7am - 3pm / 2pm - 10pm Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills and maintain their wellbeing.
Your role will include:
 Supporting the customer in their preferred activities, introducing them to new ones, and developing their independent living skills.
 Enabling the customer to maintain relationships and meet new people with shared interests.
 Communicating with the customer in a person-centred way and helping them express their wants and needs.
 Managing the customer’s anxieties and frustrations using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
 Collating behavioural data and essential paperwork for analysis within our local management structure.
 Driving the customer to activities using their vehicle, in rotation with the wider team.
 Liaising with family members and other key stakeholders including social work, psychology, and commissioning teams.
 Participating in team meetings/reviews, support planning, risk management, and the general development of the service while acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support. Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, a minimum of 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities, a driving licence, experience of facilitating creative activities for vulnerable adults.
