Job Description - Specialist Mentor Autistic Spectrum Conditions

Specialist ASC Mentor (Disabled Students Allowance - DSA Funded)

Exceptional Hourly Rate: Earn £28 per hour, plus an additional £3.38 per hour in accrued holiday pay.

Impactful Work: Provide vital one-to-one mentoring to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other mental health challenges.

MANDATORY Specialist Role Requirements

This is a specialist, DSA-funded role, meaning all candidates must strictly adhere to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education (DfE).

You MUST possess the following:

Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum).
A recognised Teaching Qualification.
Extensive Training in Adult Autism, which may include:
Option 1: 6 National Autistic Society Modules (Non-Medical Helper package). The modules cover Understanding Autism, Communication, Sensory Experience, Stress and Anxiety, Supporting Families, and Autism and Girls.
OR Option 2: The Optimum Training Course focusing on Autism and ADHD in Higher Education.A comprehensive list of all accepted training routes (pages 12 - 16) is available
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
