Salary: Up to £44,748.39 FTE per year
(depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Outpatients department.

This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
  • Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
  • Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, allied health professionals, and other nursing colleagues to support integrated, patient-centred care.
  • Lead or support audits, patient feedback initiatives, and quality improvement programmes related to your specialist area.
  • Provide clinical expertise on the treatment of complex wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulceration and major reconstruction surgery i.e. DIEP surgery.
  • Develop and implement protocols to prevent skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
  • Experience in wound care, typically requiring specialized post-registration training at Level 6 leading to level 7, such as postgraduate certificates in Wound Management.
  • Significant post-registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  •  Additional experience supporting plastic and cosmetic surgery would be an advantage.
