Specialty Doctor - Mental Health

• Location: Chelmsford, Essex
• Salary: Competitive (DOE)
• Hours: 37.5 per week | Full-Time | Permanent

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Specialty Doctor to join a progressive mental health service in Chelmsford, providing high-quality care to adults and adolescents across a range of specialist pathways, including CAMHS, eating disorders, and addictions.

Working closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a vital role in assessment, treatment planning, and clinical leadership—making a real difference in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and contribute to care planning under Consultant supervision

• Prepare discharge summaries, clinical reports, and documentation for CPA and reviews

• Support the delivery of high standards of medical care across wards and outpatient services

• Liaise with the GP and RMO to provide physical health care and emergency interventions

• Request and follow up on investigations, ensuring timely clinical responses

• Take part in clinical governance, audits, and CPD activities

• Provide mentorship and induction for new medical staff

What You’ll Need:

• Full GMC registration

• Experience working in mental health settings (CAMHS, addictions or eating disorders desirable)

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• A team-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement
