Specification Technologist

The Role

I'm working with a growing food manufacturing business, supplying customers across the UK and Europe.

As a Specification Technologist, you’ll join the Technical & Regulatory team, managing customer specifications and technical documentation while working closely with customers, suppliers and internal Technical, Quality and Regulatory teams.

This is a customer-facing role suited to someone with previous food manufacturing technical experience, excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Create, maintain and manage customer specifications and technical documentation.

Ensure documentation meets customer, legal and technical requirements.

*

Maintain accurate product information across customer portals.

*

Respond to customer technical queries professionally and promptly.

*

Review recipes, raw materials and supplier information for compliance.

*

Support supplier approval, audits and technical compliance activities.

*

Work closely with internal teams and customers to meet technical requirements.

*

Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

*

Previous experience in a Specification Technologist, Technical Specifications or similar role within food manufacturing.

*

Experience managing product/customer specifications.

*

Good knowledge of food industry technical requirements.

*

Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.

*

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

*

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*

Relevant food industry technical training.

*

Full right to work in the UK.

*

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable: HND/Degree in Food Science or a related subject, retailer/customer standards experience, customer technical portal experience, and knowledge of food safety, supplier approval and audit processes.
