We are working with a specialist provision in Brentwood that is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech & Language Support Assistant to join their team immediately.

The school supports pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), providing a highly supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop their communication, confidence, social skills, and independence. Many pupils may experience difficulties with expressive and receptive language, social communication, understanding instructions, and building relationships with their peers.

As a Speech & Language Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, and other support staff to help pupils access learning and develop essential communication skills. You may provide support on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within the classroom, using tailored strategies and interventions to help students thrive.

The school prides itself on its nurturing approach and strong multidisciplinary support, ensuring every pupil receives the specialist assistance they need to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
Have an interest in speech, language, and communication development
Be patient, caring, and adaptable
Be confident building positive relationships with pupils and staff
Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
Be able to follow communication strategies and intervention plans

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
