Job Overview


Pulse is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join a community-based Adult Speech and Language Therapy team in Preston.


This role will involve providing specialist assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within a community setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to support individuals in achieving the best possible outcomes.


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments for adults with communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for patients with a range of neurological and age-related conditions.

  • Undertake dysphagia assessments and management in line with professional guidelines.

  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to meet patient needs.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in accordance with local and professional standards.

  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.


 


Qualifications and Experience



  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Dysphagia trained with proven experience managing adult swallowing disorders.

  • Experience working within adult community Speech and Language Therapy services.

  • Demonstrable experience assessing and treating communication difficulties.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
