Before a child can tell you they are hungry, scared, happy or in pain they need language. For some children that language does not come easily. It has to be built, one sound, one word, one connection at a time.

This role is for the SLP who understands that work and shows up for it every single day.

A school in Livingston, New Jersey is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to cover a maternity leave contract from September 28 through April 12 or 19. You will work with young children in an Early Intervention Program, partnering with families to build communication skills in the environments where children actually live and grow.

What you will be doing:

• Conducting comprehensive speech, language and developmental evaluations


• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans through the IFSP process


• Coaching and educating parents and caregivers to support communication development at home


• Collaborating with occupational therapists, physical therapists and developmental specialists


• Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed


• Maintaining documentation in compliance with New Jersey Early Intervention regulations


• Traveling throughout assigned service areas to provide community based services

What you need to bring:

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program


• Current New Jersey SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure


• Knowledge of child development, developmental milestones and family centered intervention


• Strong assessment, diagnostic and treatment planning skills


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
