Engage Education is looking for a passionate, resilient and committed Outreach Mentor to support young people across schools in Oldham.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement with education and develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

The Role

As an Outreach Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may be experiencing challenges with attendance, behaviour, emotional regulation or engagement in school. You will build positive relationships, provide tailored support and help young people make positive choices about their education and future.

Key responsibilities include:

Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.

Providing one-to-one mentoring and tailored support.

*

Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

*

Encouraging positive behaviour, improved attendance and engagement with learning.

*

Driving to different provisions through-out the week

*

Helping young people develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem.

*

Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to education and achieve their potential.

*

Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, families and other professionals.

*

Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience in mentoring, youth work, pastoral support, behaviour management or working with vulnerable young people would be beneficial.
