Join Oasis Academy Broadoak as a Sports Teaching Assistant Apprentice and play a vital role in promoting physical activity and supporting classroom learning. You’ll deliver high-quality sports coaching during and outside of school hours, while also working alongside teaching staff to support the academic and personal development of pupils.

Wage rises to National Minimum Wage after 12 months

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant (Sports Pathway), you will:
Deliver and support engaging PE sessions before, during, and after school.
Support teaching staff in the delivery of lessons across the curriculum.
Promote and encourage physical activity, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.
Assist pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
Work with individuals, small groups, or whole classes as directed.
Supervise classroom activities and help students who require additional support.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and reviews as required.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Champion positive behaviour in line with school policies.
Contribute to the inclusive ethos of the academy.
Actively participate in personal development and training opportunities.
To check and organise PE equipment.
To attend competitions, this will be out of school hours Monday-Friday which will be calculated within the working hours.
To work closely with the PE lead.
Skills & Abilities
Able to adapt teaching support to individual pupil needs.
Clear communicator who explains tasks simply and encourages independence.
Understand and implement behaviour management strategies.
A proactive team player who can follow direction and use initiative.
Personal Qualities
Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and sport.
Professional, reliable, punctual, and well-organised.
Keen to learn and committed to personal and professional growth.
Previous experience working with children is a plus, but not essential.
Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English at GCSE level A-C (4-9) or functional skills equivalent
