SC Cleared - SQL Developer/DBA

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Stratford

Rate: £400-£500/day - OUTSIDE IR35

Duration: 3 months (initial)

Start: ASAP

Security Clearance: Active SC required (non‑negotiable)

We're working with a leading consultancy on a critical public sector programme, and are looking for an experienced SQL Developer / Database Specialist to join on an initial 3‑month contract.

This is a hands-on role focused on high‑performance SQL development and database optimisation within a complex, enterprise-scale data environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability across critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Tuning and optimising complex SQL queries at scale
Designing and maintaining robust database architectures (OLTP / OLAP)
Supporting a multi-layered ecosystem including SQL Server, IIS, and Elasticsearch
Building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data integration processes
Ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across systemsExperience Required

Strong background in SQL Development / Database Engineering / DBA roles
Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)
Advanced SQL skills including CTEs, joins, subqueries, and performance tuning
Experience working with at least one additional RDBMS (e.g. PostgreSQL or MySQL)
Proven ability to hit the ground running in fast-paced, delivery-focused environmentsNice to Have

Elasticsearch
Familiarity with performance tuning tools (e.g. Execution Plans, Profiler, Query Store)This is a fast-moving hiring process, and we're looking for someone who can start quickly.
