Staff Data Platform Engineer

Overview
We’re working with a well-known tech company in Scotland who are looking for a Staff Data Platform Engineer to join the team. They are one of Scotland’s tech success stories that offer a strong, mature, yet ever-evolving tech environment. They’re extremely well established but the coming year is promising growth across the data platform team and indeed wider tech teams.

The Position
As a Staff Data Platform Engineer, you'll be helping the team handle vast amounts of data which constantly pours in. You’ll be joining the batch processing team where you'll play a pivotal role in developing products utilized in-house by both Data Engineers and Software Engineers. For your reference, they are currently working with the AWS cloud so experience in this area is highly desirable. These products are set to operate at an enterprise level and must be scalable so there is plenty to keep you occupied and challenged.

Alongside hands-on development, you'll be leading a small team which will require some guiding and mentoring. Your involvement will also span the entire lifecycle of data architecture, from design to development and deployment.

Desirable Skills
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services.
• Expertise in either Python or Java programming languages.
• Experience with API development.
• Experience in a data-focused position or company
• Capable of developing data platforms.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead small teams

For this position they are offering a salary between £80,000 and £92,000 and their bonus structure is also extremely competitive as is their holiday allowance. They also embracing flexibility, we provide adaptable working hours and the option for hybrid working, you’d be expected to join them in their Edinburgh office once or perhaps twice a week.
