Our Client is seeking to hire two experienced steel fixers for approximately one week's work in Immingham. The rates are negotiable, and the position is available for immediate start. This role is ideal for skilled professionals looking to contribute their expertise in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Interpret and read basic steel fixing and rebar drawings accurately to ensure precise execution of tasks. - Cut, bend, and tie rebar according to specifications, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. - Construct reinforcement cages as per project requirements, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to engineering specifications. - Utilise tying wire, nips, and other related hand tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently and safely. - Collaborate with site supervisors and follow site drawings and instructions meticulously to meet project deadlines. - Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations to promote a safe working environment. - Report any issues or discrepancies in the work process to the supervisor promptly to ensure timely resolutions.
Requirements: - A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is essential, demonstrating your competence and commitment to safety on construction sites. - Proven experience in steel fixing and rebar cage construction, with a strong understanding of the techniques and materials involved. - Possession of basic hand tools is preferred, enabling you to perform tasks independently and efficiently. - Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications, showcasing your attention to detail and technical skills. - A reliable work ethic and a positive attitude are crucial, as you will be part of a team that values professionalism and collaboration.
Nice to Have: - Additional certifications related to construction or steel fixing, such as NVQ Level 2 in Steel Fixing, would be advantageous. - Familiarity with various types of rebar and reinforcement materials, as well as knowledge of industry best practices. - Experience working on similar projects, particularly in commercial or industrial settings, which may enhance your understanding of the role's demands. - Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and supervisors, ensuring smooth workflow and project progression. - A proactive approach to problem-solving, enabling you to address challenges as they arise on-site Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
