Steelfixers Wanted - Northumberland

Location: Northumberland (Major new build site)

Start Date: July 2026

Rate: £23.00 per hour (CIS / Gross)

Duration: Long-term, ongoing work

We are currently looking for experienced, reliable Steelfixers for a brand-new, large-scale civil engineering / construction project kicking off in Northumberland this July. This is a brilliant opportunity to secure steady, long-term work with a top-tier contractor on an ongoing scheme.

What the role involves:

Reading and interpreting structural engineering drawings and bending schedules.

Setting out, cutting, bending, and fixing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) and mesh.

Tying steel using hand tools/cutters to secure structures like foundations, retaining walls, and concrete slabs.

Working safely and productively alongside the concrete and shuttering gangs to meet tight site schedules.

What you need to apply:

Valid Blue CSCS Card (NVQ Level 2 in Steelfixing preferred).

Full PPE and your own reliable tools (nips/rebar cutters, belts, etc.).

Proven experience as a Steelfixer on major commercial, civils, or housebuilding frameworks.

Reliable transport to get to site in Northumberland.

A strong work ethic and a commitment to site health and safety.
