Estimator – Architectural Metalwork & Steelwork

Location: Essex / London
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Solution Group are currently recruiting for an Estimator on behalf of a growing specialist contractor delivering architectural metalwork and structural steelwork packages across commercial construction projects throughout London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an Assistant Estimator looking to develop their career or an experienced Estimator seeking a new challenge within an established and expanding business.

The Role

Working as part of the pre-construction and commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of architectural metalwork and steelwork projects.

Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

*

Producing quantity take-offs and material schedules.

*

Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.

*

Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.

*

Liaising with clients, suppliers and internal departments throughout the tender process.

*

Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.

*

Assisting with project handovers to delivery teams following successful tenders.

Maintaining accurate estimating records and documentation.

Requirements

*

Previous estimating experience within architectural metalwork, structural steelwork or a related construction sector.

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

*

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

*

Good communication and organisational skills.

*

Stable employment history preferred.

*

Assistant Estimator, Junior Estimator and Estimator level candidates will all be considered.
