Stock Finance Manager

CMA is delighted to be working exclusively with a thriving and purpose-driven retail business based in Havant to recruit a Stock Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the integrity of stock financials across the business, combining financial control with operational insight.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of inventory accuracy and stock-related financial reporting, while leading continuous improvement initiatives and engaging with cross-functional teams.

What will the Stock Finance Manager role involve?

• Lead responsibility for the accuracy, existence and completeness of the company’s stock file.
• Own financial entries related to stock, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and audit readiness.
• Develop and implement stock control and reconciliation procedures, including regular variance analysis and inventory reporting.
• Manage and support the stock audit team, overseeing regular stock counts and investigations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, IT and Logistics to improve stock processes and ensure alignment.
• Deliver clear, meaningful insights and reporting to senior stakeholders using tools like Power BI and Excel.
• Drive process improvements, automation and increased efficiency across stock accounting and reconciliation workflows.

Suitable Candidate for the Stock Finance Manager vacancy:

• Proven experience in stock finance, inventory control or stock operations within a finance setting.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting for inventory and operational processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail.
• Experience managing or mentoring a small team.
• Confident communicator who can engage both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivot tables) and ideally experienced with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
