Job Description - Store Manager - Self Storage

Job Title: Store Manager - Storage
Reporting to: Regional Manager

Role Overview:

As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of your storage facility, ensuring excellent customer service, maximising sales, and maintaining compliance with company policies. You will play a key role in driving business growth by implementing marketing initiatives and developing relationships with local businesses. The role requires strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to manage staff effectively.

Location:

South-East England – Bracknell, Basingstoke, Reading, Guildford, and Kingston.

Occasionally you will have to visit the Bristol branch as it falls under your patch.

Salary:

£30,067 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the storage facility, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.

  • Lead and motivate store staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.

  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to, including:

    • Operational and financial controls, conducting regular audits.

    • Staff management, training, and development.

    • Implementation of local marketing strategies to drive store awareness.

    • Health and safety compliance.

    • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and maintenance.

  • Monitor local competitor activity and keep the Regional Manager informed.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses to increase store visibility and sales opportunities.

Main Activities:

  • Assist the Regional Manager with data collection and reporting.

  • Open and close the store, ensuring security and operational readiness.

  • Proactively drive sales through effective marketing and customer engagement.

  • Manage financial processes, including cash handling, banking, and compliance with company accounting procedures.

  • Ensure administrative systems and company policies are followed diligently.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Manager.

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • The candidate must be able to commute to locations across the South-East of England.

  • The individual will be assigned a primary store based on proximity to their home address but must be flexible to travel to other locations as needed.

  • A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for travel between locations.

  • Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel from the assigned base store to other stores.
