Stores Lead

Purpose of the Stores Lead:

We’re looking for a confident and well-organised Stores Lead to oversee the day-to-day running of our client's stores function. This role is key to ensuring they always have the right level of stock for parts and consumables, helping to keep machine downtime to a minimum without overstocking. You’ll need a good understanding of their plant, machinery, and facilities to effectively manage stock availability, lead times, pricing, quality, and critical spares.

Stores Lead Responsibilities:

• Work alongside other departments, such as production and engineering
• Ensure all repairs are organised in a timely manner
• Build up strong relationships with suppliers to gain the best prices and cost reductions
• Ensure all areas of the business have the correct amount of PPE, parts, and consumables
• Process purchase order numbers and all entries are entered into the accounting system
• Keep an eye on trends in regards to new products and pricing
• To be involved in management meetings
• Manage and support team members

Requirements for the perfect Stores Lead:

• Organised with great communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Previous experience working within a manufacturing setting
