Stores Operative

Envirogen is a leading industrial water treatment solutions business. We design and build bespoke systems for water treatment across all industries including power generation, chemical manufacturing, food and beverage and healthcare. We have operations in the UK from our Headquarters in Alfreton and sites in the Netherlands, and North America. As part of our continued growth we are looking to hire an experienced Stores Operative to work in our manufacturing site in Somercotes.

As the Stores Operative you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of operations by managing the flow of materials, tools, equipment and also assisting the production team as when required.

• Goods In: Receive and unload incoming deliveries, check for damaged or missing items, and inspect the condition and quantity of goods against delivery notes.
• Inventory Management: Book goods into the inventory management system, assign storage locations for new parts, and perform regular or perpetual stock-takes. Take part in the annual stock takes.
• Order Fulfilment: Pick and pack orders for dispatch, fulfilling requests from internal departments.
• Dispatch and Transport: Prepare goods for dispatch, organize stock transfers between locations, and potentially assist with loading vehicles.
• Equipment Operation: Use materials handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet trucks, or lifting equipment, to move stock safely.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area while adhering to all health and safety procedures.
• Record Keeping: Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork and update stock management on inventory management system.
• Communication: Liaise with other departments, and Supply Chain regarding stock levels, deliveries, and discrepancies.

What we are looking for;

• Previous experience working in a stores or warehouse environment
• IT Proficiency: Competence with inventory management system and basic Microsoft Office applications
• Ideally previous experience with online courier portals,
• Equipment Licences: Forklift or other materials handling equipment licences are often advantageous or may be provided through training.
• Attention to Detail: The ability to work accurately and methodically to avoid errors in picking, packing, and record-keeping.
