Stores Operative/Driver

Certex UK have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Operative/Driver to join our team in Montrose.

The Stores Operative ensures smooth warehouse operations by managing the movement of goods, preparing stock for production, and organising transport and documentation. The role also includes making local deliveries, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Attention to detail, IT competence, and forklift operation skills are key for success in this role. 

The successful applicant will be part of our Lifting Solutions Group, the largest lifting organisation in Europe, comprising of 22 companies with over 100 locations Worldwide including the USA, Australia, and Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities:

Goods In:

• Receive, inspect, and sign for incoming goods


• Check deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies


• Enter stock into the inventory system and store it in designated locations.

Goods Out:

• Pick, pack and prepare stock orders accurately based on work order requirements


• Organise packaging, labelling, and documentation as required


• Book and coordinate collections with transport providers


• Ensure goods are shipped in line with schedule and specifications.

Warehouse & Inventory:

• Maintain accurate stock records and support regular stock takes


• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organised


• Follow health & safety and company procedures.

Production Support

• Issue stock or materials to the production team as required


• Communicate with operations, purchasing, and sales about material needs or shortages. 

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar warehouse or logistics role


• Forklift licence (B1/B2 counterbalance) preferred; training may be provided


• IT literate: experience with inventory systems, Microsoft Office tools


• Experience preparing dispatch paperwork and coordinating with transport providers


• Knowledge of safe manual handling and warehouse procedures.

• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure

• Team player with strong communication skills

• Full UK driving licence required (Category C licence Advantageous).
