Stores person Nights

We are seeking a diligent and physically fit Storesperson to manage and maintain the efficiency and security of our client's stockroom and yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate logging and control of all stock, ensuring that materials are available for both in-house projects and on-site trade teams. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist with general labouring duties as required.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Stock Logging & Control:

Implement and maintain a rigorous system for stock logging (in and out) of all materials, parts, and equipment.

Process and manage all goods-in, verifying quantities against delivery notes and ensuring materials are stored correctly.

Maintain the highest level of data accuracy within the stock management system (manual or digital).

Stock Taking:

• Conduct regular (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) stock checks and full physical stock takes to reconcile physical stock levels with system records.
• Investigate and report discrepancies to management and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all stock is clearly labelled, catalogued, and stored safely and accessibly.

Material Support & Logistics:

Receive requests for materials from on-site and workshop tradespeople and accurately and efficiently pick/kit the required items.

Prepare, load, and manage materials destined for on-site trades, ensuring timely dispatch and correct documentation.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

General Labouring:

Undertake general labouring and yard duties, including keeping the yard tidy, moving heavy materials, and assisting with site returns loading/unloading.

Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Operations Manager to support the overall efficiency of the facility.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience working in a stores, warehouse, or logistics environment.

Demonstrable ability to manage and maintain accurate stock records.

Basic IT skills for inputting data into stock management systems.

Physically capable of manual handling and fulfilling general labouring duties.

Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.

A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach to work.

Rates

Standard Hourly Rate - £22.75

Overtime Rate 1 (OT1) - £24.37

Overtime Rate 2 (OT2) - £32.50
