Salary: Circa £58,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: minimum 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a high-performing Mechanical Analysis team responsible for ensuring the structural and thermal integrity of advanced defence systems. This team provides critical technical insight throughout the entire product lifecycle-from early-stage concept exploration and detailed design development through to manufacturing support and in-service investigation.

Within this function, you'll have the chance to develop and apply your expertise across a wide array of structural analysis disciplines. Areas of focus may include: classical hand calculations, computer-aided engineering (CAE) modelling (covering static, dynamic, fatigue, aeroelastic, non-linear, impact and kinematics), as well as qualification testing, root cause investigation, and load analysis.

What We're Looking For:

• A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering or physical sciences field such as mechanical, aerospace, or structural analysis

• A strong track record in planning, executing, and leading complex structural analysis tasks-drawing from both classical methods and advanced CAE tools (experience with Hyperworks is a plus)

• Confidence in producing and presenting well-structured technical documentation and reports, including communicating results to a range of audiences, from engineers to senior decision-makers

• A proactive approach to process improvement, method development, and tool optimisation

• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers, with a desire to support others in their professional growth

• Self-starters with excellent problem-solving skills who are comfortable working independently and within multi-disciplinary teams

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC); willingness to attain Developed Vetting (DV) would be advantageous
