Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer: South Lakes
On offer : £28k to £40k + benefits
MacArthur Recruitment is seeking a (Senior) Structural Engineer, with structural engineering experience and qualifications, to work with a UK-wide customer who has offices in the South Lakes near good motorway connections. This is a varied role working on large and small projects as well as on existing structures. Mainly based in the office with occasional site visits.
Key Roles & Responsibilities for the role of (Senior) Structural Engineer:
- Production of schematic/concept designs and structural design calculations
- Working with other construction professionals in the development of designs
- Undertaking structural designs using CSC Building Designer or RAM
- Directing technicians in the production of AutoCAD and REVIT drawing information
- Developing relationships with clients and other professionals
In addition to work on traditional structural engineering design projects, there is also a requirement to undertake general structural surveys and subsequently produce reports, letters and general correspondence. This will also include the diagnosis of structural defects and the development of appropriate repair strategies.
Other general roles and responsibilities for the role of (Senior) Structural Engineer include:
- Responsible for the analysis and design of building structures, progressing to overall design of structures.
- Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Visiting sites and attending site meetings
- Involvement in internal project design meetings.
- Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members.
- Prepare correspondence and reports.
Your experience for the role of (Senior) Structural Engineer:
- Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering
- Hold or working towards MIStructE / MICE / AMIStructE / AMICE or equivalent
- IT literate with experience of structural design software packages.
- Valid driving licence
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and prospective clients
