A leading general contractor are currently seeking an experienced Structural Quality Package Manager to join a major data centre project in Slough on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural construction, quality management and package delivery, with the ability to work collaboratively across the project team, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
As Structural Quality Package Manager, you will take ownership of all quality-related activities associated with the structural package, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, inspection and test plans, project procedures and relevant UK standards.
Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for quality management of the structural package.
*
Develop, implement and manage project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
*
Ensure structural works comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
*
Coordinate inspections, testing and quality hold/witness points.
*
Monitor subcontractor quality performance and workmanship.
*
Review and manage ITRs, RFIs, NCRs, observations and corrective actions.
*
Lead the investigation and close-out of quality issues.
*
Carry out regular site inspections and quality walks.
*
Coordinate with structural engineers, construction managers, subcontractors and client representatives.
*
Ensure quality documentation is completed progressively throughout the works.
*
Monitor materials and workmanship against approved specifications.
*
Manage snagging, defects and outstanding quality items through to completion.
*
Support internal and external quality audits.
*
Provide regular quality reporting to the project management team.
*
Ensure all quality records are complete and suitable for final handover.
*
Promote a strong quality culture across the project and supply chain.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience in a Structural Quality, QA/QC or Package Management position.
*
Strong experience within major construction projects.
*
Previous experience managing structural packages.
*
Data centre or other mission-critical project experience is highly desirable.
*
Strong knowledge of construction quality processes and inspection regimes.
*
Experience managing ITPs, NCRs, RFIs, inspections, snagging and quality documentation.
*
Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
*
Experience working with main contractors, specialist subcontractors, consultants and client teams.
*
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
*
A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.
*
Good knowledge of UK construction standards and quality requirements.
*
Relevant construction, engineering or quality qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
