We are seeking a skilled Structural Repair Engineer (Stress) to play a key role in ensuring the timely and safe return-to-service of commercial aircraft. In this position, you will develop optimal structural repair solutions that balance operational time, cost efficiency and the highest standards of product safety.
Working from a design and/or stress perspective, you will engage the right stakeholders to assess in-service damages—both accidental and those arising from aging—and deliver robust, compliant repair dispositions. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to aircraft airworthiness within a collaborative, global engineering environment focused on excellence in aerospace structural integrity.
Key responsibilities
* Provide stress justification and optimal repair solutions for in-service wing damages, ensuring timely return-to-service while considering time, cost and safety
* Locate and interpret relevant data (including Stress Aircraft Certification Documents, Stress Technical Reports and related technical literature) to accurately assess aircraft damage and repair options
* Perform hand calculations for stress analysis to evaluate repair solutions in accordance with Airbus standards
* Prepare Technical Dispositions (TD), SAS and TAS documentation
* Apply sound knowledge of SRM chapters, repair principles, aircraft materials, fastener types and associated rules
* Demonstrate strong understanding of aircraft design principles, wing structure and load paths
* Work with Airbus documentation including drawings, technical notes, manuals, Service Bulletins and the SRM
* Apply knowledge of the repair process within the TRM
* Interact with Stress DTRs (Signatories) to obtain technical clarifications and agree decisions on repair proposals
* Collaborate effectively with a global team, including virtual coordination and knowledge sharing with offshore stress resources
* Ensure all repairs are completed on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of aircraft safety
The person / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical preferred)
* Proven experience in wing in-service repairs and the provision of stress justification for both accidental and aging-related damages
* Solid understanding of in-service and operator requirements
* Familiarity with aircraft materials, fastener systems, design principles and wing structural load paths
* Experience working with Airbus technical documentation (drawings, technical notes, manuals, Service Bulletins, SRM, etc.)
* Knowledge of the repair process in the TRM
* Ability to perform hand stress calculations and prepare technical disposition documentation to the required standard
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including liaison with Stress DTRs and coordination across global and offshore teams
* Comfortable working in a virtual collaborative environment
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that prioritises safety, technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving in the commercial aerospace sector. If you are ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that directly supports aircraft airworthiness, we would love to hear from you.
