Job Description - Studio Operations Manager

THE ROLE!

We are looking for an organised and proactive Studio Operations Manager to join Blazing Griffin Games in Glasgow. Sitting at the centre of the studio, you will be the person who keeps everything running—supporting our team, solving day-to-day challenges, and making sure the studio operates smoothly across HR, finance, IT, facilities, and suppliers. Working closely with studio leadership and our Group HR Manager, Group Finance Manager, and Group COO, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the studio functions and helping create an environment where the team can do their best work.

Whilst the role is being offered on a permanent full-time basis (35 hours per week), we can be flexible over total hours and shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

Studio Operations & Facilities

  • Lead the smooth running of the Glasgow studio, including facilities, health & safety, and day-to-day studio needs

  • Coordinate IT support for on-site and remote staff, working with internal and external providers

  • Manage equipment procurement, asset tracking, and general studio resources

  • Identify opportunities to improve how the studio operates and help implement them

HR

  • Support day-to-day HR administration including recruitment coordination, onboarding, appraisals, and offboarding

  • Work alongside the Group HR Manager on employee-related HR matters

  • Manage contractor and freelancer administration, including compliance processes (IR35)

  • Help support the wellbeing of both in-office and remote team members

Finance

  • Support with day-to-day financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, and expenses

  • Support the coordination of milestone and contractor payments, working alongside the Group Finance Manager and CFO

  • Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records

Legal & Contracts

  • Maintain the studio's contracts register, tracking key dates, obligations, and renewals.

  • Coordinate with the Group COO and external legal partners where needed

Accounts & Supplier Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for studio suppliers and service providers

  • Manage account renewals, licence administration, and day-to-day vendor communications

THE PERSON!

We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. This role suits someone who enjoys working across a variety of areas, balancing people, process, and practical problem-solving at the heart of a busy studio.

Experience

  • Experience in an operations, studio management, office management, or similar business support role, ideally within a games, creative, or tech environment

  • Proven experience managing a range of responsibilities across areas such as HR administration, finance administration, facilities, or supplier management

  • Experience supporting day-to-day HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and recruitment coordination

  • Experience handling financial administration such as purchase orders, invoicing, and expenses

  • Experience liaising with external suppliers or service providers

Skills & Knowledge

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly

  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of administrative accuracy

  • Comfortable working across different functions, including HR, finance, IT, and facilities

  • Confident communicator, able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, senior stakeholders, and external partners

  • Proactive and practical, with a “get things done” approach to problem-solving

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and familiarity with common administrative systems

  • A clear understanding of confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information

Desirable

  • Experience working in a games studio or creative/production environment

  • Familiarity with HR systems and processes

  • Experience coordinating IT support or managing equipment and asset registers

  • Exposure to contracts administration or maintaining compliance trackers

  • Understanding of contractor management, including IR35

  • Experience supporting facilities management or health & safety processes

Personal Attributes

  • Dependable and trustworthy, someone the team can rely on to keep things running

  • Calm and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment

  • Approachable and supportive, with a genuine interest in team wellbeing
