Sub agent - Highways

Unite People are recruiting a Sub Agent to join a civil engineering contractor delivering highway projects. This permanent opportunity would suit an experienced Sub Agent or a Senior Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

You will support the Site Agent in managing construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

Manage site activities across highways works, including earthworks, drainage, kerbing and pavement construction.

*

Coordinate engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.

*

Prepare and review RAMS, work package plans and short-term programmes.

*

Monitor progress, resolve site issues and report against programme milestones.

*

Maintain quality records, inspections and as-built information.

*

Support commercial reporting by recording site changes, resources and progress.

*

Liaise with the client, supply chain and wider project team.

Requirements:

*

Experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects.

*

Previous experience as a Sub Agent or a strong engineering background with supervisory responsibility.

*

Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quality procedures.

*

Strong planning, communication and leadership skills.

*

Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.

*

Relevant CSCS card; SMSTS and First Aid desirable.
