About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, locally-owned engineering manufacturer, designing and building factory-fabricated modular solutions for commercial heating and cooling applications used by major organisations across Europe. Despite rapid growth in recent years, they've held onto a close-knit, family-style culture built around small, connected teams. They're now looking for a Subcontractor Coordinator to take ownership of their subcontractor process, from tendering and sourcing through to onboarding, work package coordination and performance monitoring.

The Role

This is a relationship-focused, highly organised role at the heart of how outsourced work gets delivered. You'll manage subcontractor packages end-to-end, working closely with Commercial, Engineering, Quality, Estimating and Project Management teams to keep tenders, onboarding and project delivery running smoothly and on schedule.

Day to day, you'll:

• Take ownership of subcontractor tender packages from initiation through to contract award


• Work with Engineering, Project Management and Commercial teams to define scope, timelines and tender requirements


• Issue RFQs and manage the end-to-end tendering process for outsourced work packages


• Evaluate technical and commercial responses, supporting final terms and contract award recommendations


• Research and identify new subcontractors in line with project and contractual requirements


• Complete subcontractor due diligence, including capability, HSEQ, financial stability and compliance checks


• Manage subcontractor onboarding, including contract set-up, documentation and system registration


• Coordinate the release and scheduling of work packages to ensure timely dispatch


• Monitor subcontractor workloads and progress, attending regular meetings to review performance and address issues


• Act as the main point of contact for subcontractor queries throughout the tender and execution phases


• Maintain accurate records of tender evaluations, subcontractor information and performance metrics


• Identify opportunities to improve subcontractor management processes and systems

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with external suppliers, subcontractors or similar third parties, with the ability to build strong relationships


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident working with internal teams and external stakeholders


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable taking ownership and seeing tasks through to completion


• Experience using Microsoft Office and document editing tools such as Adobe


• Previous experience within the construction industry is desirable


• The ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and standards is desirable
