Subject Lead, Foundation Degree Programmes

We are seeking a dedicated Subject Lead for our Foundation Degree programmes in business, hospitality, and related fields at our Tower Hill campus. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality learning experiences that promote student retention, progression, and achievement. The successful candidate will be involved in curriculum development, teaching, and day-to-day programme management.

• Teach and manage multiple modules at Levels 4–5.
• Lead subject-specific planning, assessment, timetabling, and resource management.
• Develop course materials, online content, unit handbooks, and assessment strategies.
• Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
• Monitor and ensure student progress across relevant modules.
• Maintain industry links and up-to-date subject knowledge.
• Lead standardisation and quality assurance processes.
• Participate in recruitment, course committees, and exam boards.
• Contribute to scholarly activity and/or professional practice.
• Support student engagement, progression, and industry-related opportunities.
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusivity in all teaching and learning activities.
• Undertake continuous professional development and manage staff development.

• Relevant BA and postgraduate qualifications.
• Teaching qualification (PGCert or equivalent) - candidates will be expected to complete a PGCert in education during their employment if not already held.
• Fellowship (or Higher) of the Higher Education Academy.
• Demonstrable ability to design and deliver units of study that introduce and develop the complex range of theoretical and practical concerns of the discipline.
• Experience in teaching & assessment in a Higher Education environment.
• Experience in curriculum design and development and the creation of course materials that support student development.
• Effective planning and management skills, prioritising work to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team and across professional groups.
