SUBSTANCE MISUSE PRACTITIONER, COMMUNITY OUTREACH ALCOHOL TREATMENT TEAM (COATT), RECOVERY CASE MANAGEMENT ALCOHOL TEAM - NOTTINGHAM RECOVERY NETWORK, NOTTINGHAM, 37 HPW, SALARY: £25,147 - £27,596 FTE, 1-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
The Nottingham Recovery Network is the single point of advice, support and treatment to anybody in Nottingham City who wishes to change their relationship with alcohol or drugs.
An exciting opportunity has become available within the highly motivated and ever developing Community Outreach Alcohol Treatment Team (COATT). The COATT team sits within the Alcohol Treatment Team (Recovery Case Management Alcohol Team) providing assertive outreach to service users whose primary substance use is alcohol. The successful candidate will support the team with clients accessing and engaging clients in treatment and will have an interest in working with the older and more frail client group. This post offers the successful candidate an excellent chance for personal and professional development.
Based across sites: City Centre Nottingham/ Hospital Liaison NUH / Primary Care and other care settings to meet the needs of the service. The role requires the postholder to travel around Nottingham City and access to a car is desirable but not essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
• To complete comprehensive assessments of patients and be involved in the delivery of treatment including, brief and extended advice, structured treatment, care planning and risk assessments.
• To hold a varied caseload of non-dependent drug and alcohol patients.
• To assist in the delivery of Health Promotion, training across Nottingham City and contribute towards peer development training.
• You will be working directly with other Clinical Specialists and Senior Substance Misuse Practitioners and be expected to assist across Nottingham Recovery Network service as necessary.
• You will be working with a diverse patient group and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to address the needs of the individual of the patient.
Experience Needed
• Experience of working with people with drug and/or alcohol misuse issues
• Excellent record keeping and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a good knowledge of harm reduction models for drug and alcohol are essential.
• Be able to work flexibly and within a team.
