The Opportunity As a Success Coach, you'll provide personalised support that empowers students to stay engaged, overcome barriers and achieve successful outcomes. You'll build positive relationships, monitor progress, deliver engaging personal development sessions and work collaboratively with teaching and support teams to ensure every learner receives the guidance they need.

Key Responsibilities Student Coaching & Mentoring Provide one-to-one and group coaching sessions that encourage motivation, resilience and personal growth. Support learners to set realistic goals and develop action plans to improve attendance, progress and achievement. Identify students requiring additional support and implement timely intervention strategies. Work closely with teaching staff to coordinate academic and pastoral support.Personal Development Deliver engaging workshops covering topics such as wellbeing, healthy relationships, online safety, Prevent, sexual health and personal resilience. Adapt sessions to meet the needs of different student groups and learning styles. Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and discussion.Attendance & Student Engagement Monitor attendance, punctuality and learner engagement. Support students experiencing attendance or behavioural concerns through coaching and intervention. Liaise with parents, carers and internal teams where appropriate to improve engagement.Wellbeing & Pastoral Support Act as an approachable first point of contact for students requiring pastoral guidance. Recognise when specialist intervention is required and refer students to appropriate support services. Promote positive mental health, confidence and emotional resilience.Employability & Future Progression Help students develop essential employability and life skills. Encourage participation in enrichment opportunities and student leadership activities. Work alongside careers professionals to support progression into employment, apprenticeships or further study.Safeguarding & Inclusion Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student welfare. Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role. Support vulnerable learners through effective partnership working across support services.Administration & Communication Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions. Monitor learner progress using internal systems. Contribute to initiatives that improve student success, wellbeing and retention.About You You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys supporting others and building positive relationships. You will have excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and the confidence to motivate and inspire young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Ideally, you'll have:
A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in coaching, mentoring, education or student support. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent). Experience supporting young people within education, mentoring or pastoral settings. Knowledge of safeguarding, student wellbeing and learner engagement. Confidence delivering presentations or group sessions. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those requiring additional support. A commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.Qualifications such as Mental Health First Aid, coaching or mentoring certifications, safeguarding training or a related degree would be advantageous, although support to achieve these may be available.
Safeguarding The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
