East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work, delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Private Sector Housing team as a Suffolk Healthy Homes Support Officer.

The role:

The ideal candidate will promote and deliver Suffolk Healthy Homes services to eligible residents of Suffolk with a focus on supporting the more vulnerable residents. The service looks to provide wrap around support for individuals who are struggling with poor housing conditions and affected by poor health. You will assess each vulnerable client and determine what support they need to navigate the system and provide this in the form of home visits, support with grant applications, provision of energy advice, contractor liaison, evidence gathering and linking with other services to facilitate a holistic support network to ensure as far as it is reasonable that when the job is completed the client has a safe home environment.

What you will need:

The ideal candidate will need knowledge of the benefits system, the ability to work flexibly alongside being caring and empathetic. An NVQ level 2 or similar experience is required and a City and Guilds Energy Awareness level 3.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all of the essential requirements, please apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
