Job Title: Supplier Development Manager

Location: Bolton or Stevenage

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

Location: Bolton or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

The Opportunity:

Due to increased delivery demands, an exciting opportunity has opened for a Supply Chain Manager / Supplier Development Manager to join the Sub-Assemblies team within the Industrial Support and Procurement (ISP) function. The successful candidate will bring experience and insight to drive supplier performance, capability, and risk management across a broad portfolio. This role operates in a dynamic environment, supporting both established and emerging technologies across multiple programmes.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a degree-level (or equivalent) supply chain professional with a strong background in high-technology industries and experience working internationally. Prior experience in Aerospace, Defence, or advanced Manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proven ability to enhance supplier performance (delivery and quality) using appropriate tools and lean methodologies

• Skilled in conducting capacity audits to identify bottlenecks, assess yield, evaluate resource capability, and perform sub-tier mapping

• Confident managing a portfolio of suppliers on a day-to-day basis, reporting performance into programme teams, and driving risks to closure

• Ability to assess supplier capability to meet both current and future delivery demands

• Competent in creating and validating process flows and lead time analyses

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and working knowledge of structured techniques such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control)

• Experience in identifying, escalating, and mitigating supply chain risks through improvement and recovery planning

• Proficient in conducting analysis and preparing executive-level summaries

Additionally, the role may involve contributing to departmental supply chain excellence initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
