Supply Chain Coordinator

Your new role
Hays Logistics are excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Supply Chain Coordinator within the Hull area on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supply Chain Operations Team, Traders, and other support functions to ensure efficient and timely shipments.

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will report directly to the Supply Chain Operations Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include planning the loading and shipment of products from source to destination, in line with the terms of sale. You will collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure shipments are executed efficiently and in accordance with contractual terms.

Your role will also involve handling claims with shipping lines and cargo insurers, ensuring maximum margin on every shipment, and maintaining high levels of supplier and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely forecasting information for all stakeholders, ensuring timely loadings, and managing any issues that arise during shipment until the container is collected and returned by the customer.

You will seek opportunities to reduce logistics costs and enhance performance and service levels, working alongside inspection agencies when required to meet destination market requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, candidates should have proven experience in a senior container logistics, supply chain or shipping roles, exceptional organisational and time management skills, and a proactive, driven attitude.

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration and communication abilities, and sensitivity to cultural and religious differences are also important. Candidates should have good geographical knowledge, flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Experience with SAP and a good understanding of shipping documentation is highly desirable.
