£45,000 to £55,000 + Bonus
As a result of exciting commercial growth, an ambitious, highly organised Supply Chain Manager is required to shape and deliver the supply chain strategy for a market-leading provider of precision sheet metalwork, fabrications and assemblies with a large product portfolio and a longstanding blue-chip customer base.
Supplying some of the best-known names in the world across a broad range of sectors including automotive, consumer and industrial electronics, marine, medical, retail, vending, telecommunications and energy, our client is renowned for delivering small batch high precision products with the capability to switch between products and assemblies as demand requires.
Drawing on their previous experience of negotiating supply chain agreements, the successful candidate will ultimately take responsibility for material control processes, inventory management, forecasting, vendor selection and scheduling. A highly professional, "hands on" approach is essential in order to successfully manage a £4m annual spend.
Key Responsibilities
To negotiate and arrange long term agreements with key specialist suppliers of unique products
To have direct input into contract negotiations with customers such that supply chains are back-to-back with contract requirements
Develop appropriate supply chain strategies to feed production lines in a timely fashion whilst improving cash flows and reducing stock levels
Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Direct and coordinate global supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimisation, profitability maximisation, and KPIs resulting in the maximisation of customer satisfaction.
Improve quality and on time delivery for the hundreds of specialist components required for assemblies
Plan, manage and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand
Work with plant, warehouse, and logistics departments to determine and set up inter-company transfers
Work directly with sales department to determine most cost-effective distribution solution for finished goods transportation to customers
Monitor and correct inventory levels
Collaborate with goods in and goods out department to determine best practice for use of fleet v's freight
Support proper utilisation of ERP system (EFACS bespoke MRP - full training given)
Skills & Experience
3+ years of supply chain, logistics or warehouse management experience
Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges
Ability to conduct detailed procedures in a time constrained environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of time organisation and urgency
Able to work independently, within a senior management team and manage their own team
