Description

Location: Pepper House, Nantwich, with hybrid working in line with Belong’s Hybrid Working Policy

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £29,871 per annum

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Build your IT career while making a real difference.

We are looking for a helpful, organised and customer-focused Support Engineer to join our Central Services IT team.

You will be one of the first points of contact for colleagues who need technical support, helping to resolve everyday IT issues and making sure more complex requests reach the right person quickly.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a good foundation in IT who wants to develop their technical knowledge through practical experience, training and support from an experienced team.

What will you be doing?

You will:

  • Receive IT support requests by telephone, email and our ticketing system.
  • Log, categorise, prioritise and triage incidents and service requests.
  • Support colleagues using laptops, desktop computers, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Help resolve common issues involving passwords, user accounts, connectivity and standard software.
  • Provide clear, professional and friendly updates to users.
  • Escalate unresolved or more complex technical issues promptly.
  • Support colleagues working remotely and across Belong locations.
  • Help prepare, configure and issue laptops, PCs and mobile devices.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT equipment and support activity.
  • Follow agreed processes for ticket management, escalation and resolution.
  • Work closely with the Lead Engineer, Senior Support Engineers and the wider IT team.

Requirements

About you:

You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters most is that you enjoy helping people, have a genuine interest in technology and are willing to learn.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Basic knowledge of Windows desktop support.
  • An understanding of devices such as printers, webcams and headsets.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • The confidence to prioritise work and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic awareness of networks, Wi-Fi and VPNs.
  • A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach.
  • A willingness to develop within an IT support environment.
  • Experience within customer service, a helpdesk or an IT support role would be beneficial. An IT-related qualification, or working towards one, would also be an advantage.
  • A current driving licence and willingness to travel to other Belong locations are required.

Benefits

Why join Belong?

You will join a supportive and collaborative IT team where you can build your skills, gain practical experience and make a visible difference to colleagues across the organisation.

We offer:

  • A salary of £29,871 per annum.
  • Hybrid working in line with Belong’s policy.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to gain broad, hands-on IT experience.
  • Access to Belong’s wider colleague benefits.
