Support IT Analyst

My client in the Manvers area of Barnsley are looking for an experienced IT Support Analyst.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting databases, applications, and users in a office environment. You will play a key role in ensuring staff can effectively utilise our systems while helping to maintain the smooth day-to-day running of technology across the organisation.

Working closely with colleagues and our external IT support provider, you will provide practical assistance, training, troubleshooting, and technical support to users across the Diocese.

ROLE DUTIES

Provide first line functional support for the Diocese’s core database (DMS), other database applications including the property database and X Ledger
Deliver informal and structured training to users on database systems and reporting tools.
Liaise with reception staff, who look after the meeting rooms, to ensure the day-to-day operational IT readiness of equipment and respond quickly to in-meeting technical issues to minimise disruption.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for IT issues escalated by the outsourced IT support provider, Virtual IT assisting with diagnostics and issue resolution.
Provide support for equipment and systems not managed by Virtual IT including our phone system (8x8), Nitro signing, mobile devices and printers. Liaising with third party suppliers where necessary.

CRITERIA

Experience supporting business systems or databases in a user-facing role.
Experience troubleshooting applications or system issues and working with others to resolve them.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, non-technical language.
A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving, particularly in time-pressured or public situations (e.g. meetings
Friendly, approachable and service-oriented, with a genuine desire to help colleagues.
