Support Staff/ Teaching Assistant

Salary: Pay Band 3 (FTE: £25, 948) actual £16,726

Hours: 27.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only

Contract: 1 Year fixed Term initially with the possibility of an extension

Start date: 1^st September 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled person to join the team here at St George’s as a member of the support staff team helping young children with additional learning needs to thrive and achieve their very best. This is a marvellous opportunity to sink your teeth into something new and we encourage interested parties to get in touch with questions and to arrange a visit.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

• The successful candidate should be calm, flexible, committed and interested in pupil development 


• Can work as part of a team, working alongside the class teacher to share responsibility for the progress of identified pupils.


• Is confident to work individually where needed and be flexible.


• Can support children through interventions and groups as directed by the class teacher, adapting the learning as needed and reporting back the progress made.


• Can work on their own initiative with 1:1 children with SEND


• Values the importance of forming positive relationships with children, other staff, professionals and parents.
