Job Description - Support Worker

Location: Hayes, West London | Salary: £13.00ph | Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm

A values-led children’s residential care provider is looking for an experienced Support Worker to join their newly opened home in Hayes, West London. The service supports young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs in a stable, nurturing, and child-centred environment.

Role Highlights:

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity

  • Flexible working including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Work in a newly opened, purpose-driven setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans
  • Support children with personal care, education, activities, and daily routines
  • Build positive and trusting relationships
  • Promote emotional development and independence
  • De-escalate challenging behaviours using trauma-informed techniques
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Maintain clear and accurate records
  • Participate in care planning, reviews, and team duties

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting (EBD or complex needs)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and behaviour management
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to improving children’s lives
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rota

Desired:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3, Care Certificate, or equivalent qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • MAPA/Team Teach or trauma-informed care training
