The Role
We are recruiting compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to support individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities. This role involves providing structured, consistent support while understanding sensory needs, communication differences, and behaviours that may challenge.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver person-centred support tailored to individuals with Autism and LD
* Support structured routines and predictability to promote emotional wellbeing
* Use autism-friendly communication techniques and approaches
* Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and risk assessments
* Support with daily living tasks, including personal care where required
* Promote independence, social inclusion, and life skills development
* Support individuals in community activities and engagement
* Maintain accurate records in line with company policies and CQC standards
* Respond calmly to distress or behaviours that challenge using de-escalation techniques
Requirements
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or complex needs
* Understanding of autism, sensory needs, and behavioural support approaches (or willingness to learn)
* Patient, calm, and consistent approach to care
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends, and nights
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Desirable (Not Essential)
* PMVA, CPI or MAPA training
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
* Experience in supported living or residential autism services
