Job Description - Support Worker Children's

Job Opportunity: Support Worker - Children's 
Location: Derbyshire, Shirebrook 
Salary: £23,067 per year + £5,000 sleep-in allowance
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Expected Hours: 37.5-40 per week

  • Competitive salary starting at £23,067 + £5,000 sleep-in allowance. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support and nurture children and young people through trauma-informed and relational practice.
  • Work in a challenging yet rewarding environment that requires sensitivity, understanding, and empathy.
  • Engage with children and young people to foster a positive and supportive relationship.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Health and Social Care working directly with children aged 8-18 years old.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo a free DBS check.
  • Enthusiasm to make a difference and flexibility to work long days (10:00 - 22:00).
  • Full driving license (desirable) or in the latter stages of gaining your license.
  • Preferred: Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People's Residential (desirable, but training provided after 6 months of satisfactory employment).

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Patience and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Schedule:

  • Day shifts, holidays, Monday to Friday, sleep-in nights, overtime, weekends on a rota basis.
